OpenNESS participates in the French millennium ecosystem assessment
At 8 October the IRSTEA team (National Research Institute of Science and Technology for Environment and Agriculture in France) working on Case 05 - Regional and national forest management planning in the French Alps Vercors Mts Range, participated in the first workshop organized by the French Ministry of Ecology, Sustainable Development and Energy under the French assessment of ecosystems and their services for the Millennium Ecosystem Assessment (MEA) at the national level. The objective of the event was to build up an interdisciplinary network of researchers working on ecosystem services in France.
Patrizia Tenerelli presented the OpenNESS approach and the applications for the French Alps (Vercors Mts Range) case study on the spatially-explicit ecosystem services assessment. The presentation introduced a round table discussion on how to map and model ecosystem services bundles and how to address uncertainty and stakeholders’ participation.
